ISLAMABAD (Agencies) - The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established a central verification cell to scrutinize, verify the tax details of the candidates who are contesting elections.
The Election commission has directed the cell to ensure verification and approval of the tax details of the candidates within 24 hours.
The subsidiary of FBR Pakistan Revenue Authority Limited has developed special software to verify the tax details of the candidates. Director Intelligence and Investigation Inland Revenue has also devised a strategy in this regard.
Instructions have also been issued to the officials of all Regional Taxpayers Unit across.
Two officials who have been assigned responsibilities would be responsible to forward the information and these officials would maintain the record of FBR.
Five officials of the Pakistan Revenue Authority Limited (PRAL) would look after the technical matters.
