Summary Justice (r) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has been appointed as caretaker PM.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has selected Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso as caretaker PM.
The announcement was made by the Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim in a press conference on Sunday.
Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has served as the chief justice to the high court in southwest Balochistan province and also briefly served as the acting governor of the province.
Earlier, the commission held two sessions after the parliamentary committee failed to select the caretaker PM.
The ECP has to choose from the four nominees put forward by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The PPP had proposed the names of Dr Ishrat Husain and Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso. PML-N’s nominees were Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid and Rasool Bux Paliejo.
