ISLAMABAD (Dunya News): Secretary Information of Pakistan People’s Party Qamar Zaman Kaira has said if the Election Commission chooses Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid caretaker Prime Minister, then PPP will think over other options.
Talking to the media outside the parliament in Islamabad on Wednesday, he said that if PML-N wanted to make Justice (r) Nasir Aslam Zahid Prime Minister, then it should give him party ticket to contest elections. The PPP would not accept him on the slot of caretaker PM in any case, said former federal minister.
He said that President Asif Ali Zardari would not resign to run the election campaign of PPP. The party’s campaign would be managed by Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf.
The former minister said that Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was an undemocratic person who wanted to fasten the institutions. His inflexibility on the issue of caretaker Prime Minister has put even the ECP on trial.
“There are some differences with PML(Q) but both the parties would resolve their matters amicably. Seat adjustments would be carried out with PML (Q) in upcoming polls”, said Kaira.
He told the journalists that the PPP gave the names of clean persons with good reputation for interim Prime Minister. He was of the view if many people from a family be in politics, it could not be called politics of inheritance.
He said that PPP gave the representation to its coalition partners in the parliamentary committee for nomination of caretaker PM but the PML (N) did not include the other parties in the opposition.
He said that the PPP, ANP and MQM are facing threats during the election campaign.
