Summary Terrorists, police exchanged fire before the explosion took place.

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - At least four people were killed and 30 others injured when terrorists attacked a judicial complex in Peshawar on Monday.

The blast took place inside the court of Additional Civil Judge Kulsoom Azam, a police official said.

Several lawyers and policemen are among the wounded who have been shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital.

Provincial Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the group that attacked the complex included at least one suicide bomber, who detonated his explosives inside the court complex.

He said the attackers may have been trying to free militant colleagues jailed on the premises.

Security forces waged a gunbattle with the militants, and Hussain initially suggested that the attackers may have taken some hostages. He later said the situation was under control, without providing details.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the latest attack.
