LAHORE (Dunya News):-Lahore High Court while putting off the hearing of Electricity Theft Case till March 18 says the federal government has admitted that electricity worth Rs 90 billion has been stolen during last five years. What is fault with the common man who is being victimized despite paying his dues regularly, remarked LHA Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.

When Lahore High Court Chief Justice started hearing of the case, the counsel for the petitioner said that unannounced loadsheding continued throughout the country, causing tremendous problems for citizens.

On the other hand, the lawyer on the part of the Federation Government said that main reason of loadshedding is theft of electricity.

Passing his remarks, Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial said that the government was not taking any serious action against the violators. “It is very strange game that the very citizens are unscrupulously being exploited who are regularly paying their utility bills”, said chief justice.

The court also ordered the Federal Government to submit record of electricity theft in written and adjourned hearing of the case till March 18.
