ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Talking to media persons here on Monday, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Punjab government was not serious in taking action against LeJ.

He urged Punjab CM Shabaz Sharif to rise above narrow political interests and take serious action against Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.

“Tehrik-e-Taliban and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi do not want elections to take place in Pakistan,” he said.

Punjab government would be responsible if elections are postponed because of the activities of LeJ, he said.

He said Badami Bagh incident had exposed the claims of good governance by the Punjab rulers.

FATA, Miranshah and Rahimyar Khan are safe hubs of the terrorists and banned outfits were behind the Karachi unrest, Malik added.

“Pakistan has released the Taliban leaders wanted by Afghanistan, and now Kabul should hand over Moulvi Faqeer to Pakistan.
