ISLAMABAD (Dunya News):-The witnesses of Benazir murder case are receiving phone calls littered with life threats. After this, Sub Inspector Ashfaq is also missing for two days. Police officers have informed the court about the latest situation.

According to sources, Inspector Aijaz Shah, Inspector Ilyas and Sub Inspector Ashfaq are receiving life threats from unknown persons who are using Afghan communication network.

Police officers complained that they are being pressurized to refrain from giving evidence in the court; otherwise they would have to face dire consequences.

After receiving intimidation, Sub Inspector Ashfaq is missing for two days; however, no report has been registered in any police station.

Threat to the lives of witnesses in some crucial cases is not a new phenomenon. In most high-profile cases, witnesses continue to face threats, but there is no proper platform where they can ask for protection. This became evident last month when eight witnesses were killed in different cities.
