ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Supreme Court (SC) should take action against Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) over its ties with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ).
Addressing the media, Malik said that all information regarding LeJ has been provided to Punjab government, adding that he hopes that the provincial government will take action against the group.
Malik claimed that LeJ was responsible for eighty percent of terror plots across the country, adding that the militants take refuge in Punjab province after conducting terror attacks.
Referring to the dialogue with Taliban, Malik said that the Taliban should lay down their weapons if they were serious in holding talks with the government.
He stressed that the nation needs to unite over the matter of terrorism.
