ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Members of political and religious parties on Thursday backed dialogue process with the Taliban, sources told.
The All Parties Conference (APC) organized by Jamiat Ulema-e -Islam- Fazlur Rehman (JUI-F) is underway in Islamabad, to discuss the roadmap for restoration of peace in the country.
Besides tribal elders‚ more than 30 political leaders including PML-N president Nawaz Sharif‚ Makhdoom Amin Fahim‚ Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain‚ Mahmood Khan Achakzai‚ Syed Munawar Hassan‚ Ghulam Ahmad Bilour‚ Aftab Sherpao‚ Waseem Ahmed‚ Hasil Bizenjo‚ and Mushahid Hussain Syed are attending the conference.
During meeting, Senior Vice Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Amin Faheem has said the government will support each effort to bring peace in the country.
Amin Faheem said the political leaders in the conference should take decisions within the constitutional limits.
In his remarks, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif said that the dialogue offer made by the Taliban should be taken seriously for bringing peace.
He fully supported dialogue with the Taliban and urged the government to respond this offer positively.
PML-Q Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain stressed the need for opting all options to bring peace. He said no one should have doubt on the loyalties of tribal peoples.
Jamat-e-Islami Chief Munawar Hassan alleged India for interfering in Balochistan and disturbing peace there. He said his party fully supports efforts for peace.
