Quetta case: Steps taken by govt not satisfactory, says SC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Tuesday rejected a report regarding Quetta bombing, stating that no steps were taken despite Shia community’s concerns.

 

A three-member of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry resumed hearing of Quetta carnage case.

 

During case proceeding, Balochistan’s Additional Advocate General presented a report regarding Quetta blast. It was mentioned in the report that chemical used in fertilizers was being used in the explosives.

 

The court was also informed that security was tightened across the province and decision has been taken to block the roads leading towards Hazara town.

 

On this, Chief Justice remarked that authorities are trying to isolate Hazara Town, whereas, no arrangement was made to deal with such situation.

 

Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry ordered IG FC, IG Police, Home Secretary and Chief Secretary to submit a detailed report over the incident.

 

The bench also directed the concerned authorities that compensation should immediately be given to the bereaved families of Hazara town.

 

Later, the case hearing was adjourned till March 6.
