Summary MQM has announced to hold protest demonstrations across the country against Pir Mazhar remarks.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) coordination committee has announced to hold protest demonstrations across the country, including Karachi and Hyderabad, against the statement issued by Sindh Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq that he would not allow anybody to set up any public sector university in Hyderabad.

After a meeting in Karachi, the MQM Coordination Committee said protest demonstrations would be held in all major cities of Pakistan, including Karachi and Hyderabad. The committee announced to hold a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club at 3:00 pm.

The MQM chief Altaf Hussain while talking with Hyderabad Zonal Committee members on telephone said that the statement of Pir Mazhar has hurt the feelings of the people of Hyderabad.

He said that apart from establishment of university in Hyderabad, MQM will also set up universities in Dadu, Thatta, Larkana, Khairpur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and other parts of the country.

Meanwhile, the members of MQM coordination committee were of the view that Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq laid down foundation to divide Sindh by opposing establishment of university in Hyderabad.

They said that the historians should note as to who was aiming to divide Sindh, adding that the remarks were an open enmity with the people of Hyderabad.
