ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Hearing the Shahzeb murder case, the Supreme Court (SC) has expressed dissatisfaction over a police report and questioned as to why the case had not progressed during the past two months?

A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, heard the case pertaining to the murder of a 20-year-old Shahzeb on Thursday.

The counsel for Shahrukh Jatoi objected to the bench hearing of Shahzeb murder case, stating that the SC proceeding was affecting trial court s proceedings.

He said that Shahrukh will not get justice under the current proceedings of Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the investigation officer apprised the court about the investigation. The officer said that the Shahrukh Jatoi’s birth certificate has been verified. The weapon used in the murder is in police custody while the forensic report has confirmed that bullets fired from the particular weapon caused Shahzeb’s death, the investigation officer added.

He further informed the bench, that the weapon had been hidden in Shahrukh’s brother’s car under the spare wheel. The bench demanded to know whether the vehicle was in Shahrukh’s brothers name, to which the officer responded that it was not, and was being used on an open-letter.

The Chief Justice remarked that vehicles being driven on open-letters are used in criminal activities and this practice must be stopped immediately.
