LAHORE (Dunya News) – The provincial government has finally ended the free ride on the Metro Bus Service and will charge Rs 20 as fare per passenger from today (Monday).
The decision was taken by Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif a couple of days back after reviewing the damages being done to the buses by the free ride idea.
The proposal, with regard to the fare fixed by metro bus service authority had been approved and the notification for immediately charging fare from passengers has been issued.
According to officials, government has decided to charge Rs 20 as fare from every passenger from Gajjumata to Shahdra.
The officials said that heavy rush was witnessed from the next day of inauguration of metro bus till date and this fact had been revealed that the aim of most of the people traveling on these buses was just recreation that added problems for the real passengers of the bus.
