ISLAMABAD: Rehman Malik said killings in Karachi, Indian forces’ attack on Line of Control (LoC), Indian army chief’s statements and long march by Tahir ul Qadri was a pre- conceived international conspiracy.
He said this while talking to media men outside Parliament House Monday. He stated government was determined to arrest Tahir ul Qadri but the latter announced to abolish sit-in overnight.
“No one should try to carry out any long march towards Islamabad in future. Whosoever will conduct long march, he will be considered a part of conspiracy to impede timely holding of general elections”, warned Rehman Malik.
A long marcher will come on his will but go out from Islamabad as per our will, he announced.
“We should ascertain what are sources from where the funds flow in which are incurred on assembling the people at such a large scale and on their daily expenses, he said adding federal government has to incur enormous expenses on the safety of the processions on their way to Islamabad.
He went on to say that Karachi would be the next target of the terrorists. Militants could target Karachi next to mount pressure on the government, he cautioned.
There was information that processions of Eid Milad ul Nabi (PBUH) could be attacked upon by the terrorists but they could not do so due to blockage of mobile phone service, he stated.
He urged upon the subscribers to get register their SIMs till February, 01. All the mobile phone companies should block the SIMs which have been issued illegally, he warned.
“We welcome the talks with the Taliban no matter they take place through any arbiter including Maulana Fazlur Rehman”, he declared.
He said foreign hand is behind worsening law and order situation in the country. Anti state elements wanted to weaken the national economy, he added.
