LAHORE: A full bench of the Lahore High Court headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial resumed the hearing of a contempt of court petition against President Asif Ali Zardari for not relinquishing the political office of PPP co-chairman, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
During the hearing, Wasim Sajjad, the federation’s counsel, stated that the president enjoys complete immunity under the Constitution, but the president could be impeached if he had done something unlawful or wrong.
Wasim Sajjad asked court to give some time to consult the matter with the President.
The court gave him until February 6 to submit reply that either President Zardari will implement the court order or not.
