Summary Chief Justice Pakistan says judiciary never tried to play the role of administration or parliament.
KARACHI: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Saturday while setting aside the negative criticism on judiciary said that the judiciary never tried to play the role of administration or parliament.
Addressing the Supreme Court Bar and delegations of all bar associations of Sindh on Saturday, the Chief Justice said that the court only took law into account while issuing verdict on Karachi law and order case.

Justice Chaudhry said that the judiciary respects all the state institutions, adding that its role is not to oppose the parliament and the administration but to protect democracy.
Paying tribute to Karachi lawyers, the chief justice said that the sacrifices they have rendered for the restoration of judiciary are unforgettable.
He said that there are a lot of difficulties on a way to justice, adding that the key hurdle is corruption.
