Summary Long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of the Af-Pak border following the closure.
KABUL: The security forces have closed the Pak-Afghan border in protest against torture on Pakistani labourers in Afghanistan.
The border has been shut for indefinite period of time.
According to government sources, as many as twenty nine Pakistani labourers were tortured by Afghanistan’s national army personnel in Kabul. The army personnel snatched and later tore the passports of labourers, ordering them to return to their country.
On their way back to Pakistan at Turkham border, the labourers told the security personnel about the incident, lamenting that they entered Afghanistan legally. On which, the security men closed the border.
Soon after the closure, long queues of vehicles were seen on both sides of the border.
