ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the president to issue notification of appointment for two Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges.

A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Khilji Arif Hussain announced the verdict in IHC judges’ case on Friday.

In its verdict, the bench ordered to issue appointment notification for Justice Shaukat Siddiqi and Justice Noorul Haq. The notification will be in effect from November 20, 2012.

Justice Shaukat Siddiqi will be appointed as the permanent judge in Islamabad High Court while a service extension of six months as additional judge high court has been ordered for Justice Noorul Haq.

The verdict didn’t make any point regarding the questions raised in presidential reference.

A constitutional petition was filed by Advocate Nadim Ahmed against the non-issuance of notification of appointment for Islamabad High Court.
