Summary Three soldiers were martyred while three others including a Major rank officer wounded in attack.

 

PESHAWAR: At least three soldiers were killed and three others sustained injuries in clashes between security forces and extremists in Lakki Marwat, district of northwestern terrorism hit province Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, officials reported on Monday. 

 

Dozens of insurgents armed with guns and rockets stormed a security check post in Lakki Marwat. The wounded troops were shifted to military hospital.


The security forces retaliated, however army did not give information how many militants were killed or injured in the exchange of fire.


Security forces have been engaged in military action in the area for the past several months in which several militants have been killed and dozen others injured. The security forces claimed to have inflicted heavy losses on the militants.


However, the claim was rejected by the insurgents. It is pertinent to mention here that a large number of people have fled the area and shifted to Hangu and Tall.
