Pakistan ranks 33 in most corrupt countries: report

Summary The 2012 index ranks 176 countries by their perceived levels of public sector corruption.

 

ISLAMABAD: The Transparency International on Wednesday issued annual report over corruption in 2012, raising the Pakistan rank from 42 to 33.

 

The  organization has expressed concern over the growing corruption in the country saying that the corruption of Rs 12600 billion was reported in different sectors of Pakistan during the last five years, adding that corruption has reached its peak during the last year.

 

The following is a list of the top- and bottom-ranked nations on corruption watchdog Transparency International s annual Corruption Perceptions Index.

 

The index score relates to perceptions of the degree of corruption as seen by business people and country analysts and ranges between zero, which is highly corrupt, and 100, which is very clean.
