MARDAN: Mian Nawaz Sharif Monday has emphasised national consensus in order to settle the controversial issue of Kalabagh Dam.
Addressing to public meeting in Mardan, Nawaz Sharif said that without harmony among the four units of the country, mega project of Kalabagh would remain unfruitful.
He advocated that the PML-N was determined to make Pakistan a model of development and prosperity and the party’s manifesto would provide a clear road map in this regard.
“Our manifesto is not based upon mere slogans rather it is reflection of practical steps and realities”, he said.
Nawaz said the people of Mardan had always played a key role in making his party’s governments in the province and the country, with the hope that his party would win most seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, especially Mardan division during forthcoming elections.
He said arrangements would be made to ensure free treatment of poor patients, adding that special kidney transplantation at the hospital would also be installed.
He said PML-N would construct roads from Gwadar to Chitral and Khyber to Karachi if it was provided an opportunity to come to power in next polls.
The PML-N leader said the government had miserably failed to resolve the people’s problems due to wrong policies and mismanagement.
“Today, people are facing suicide attacks, bomb blasts, unemployment, price hike and other problems, while the rulers are busy saving their positions”, he said.
Nawaz said the government has neither any plan nor vision to steer the country out of the current socio-economic and security crises.
He said he had no belief in hallow slogans and misguiding manifestos, rather his mission is to bring about a real change in the country through democratic way.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif visited home of late Muhammad Ali Khan Hoti and sympathized with heirs of ex-minister and offered Fateha for the departed soul.
