CEC appointment: govt not be given freehand: Nisar

If deal is not done with one of the opposition parties, the opposition may be able to have the chairmanship, said Ch Nisar Ali Khan.While talking to the media in Islamabad, he said that government is playing tricks for calling meeting of committee for appointment of Chief Election Commission.He said that all the three names recommended by the government are highly disputed. The PML-N would introduce three names which undoubtedly would be impartial, he said.He said that the government has called a meeting for selection of Chief Election Commission but the PML-N has not been invited; rather our members have been informed by SMS.He said that Khurshid Shah has not written any letter to him; adding that Khurshid Shah is not chairman of the committee; in which capacity he is going to write a letter, Ch Nisar said.
