Summary Defence Secretaries of both the countries will discuss ways to resolve the Siachen issue.
Military representatives from Pakistan and India will meet for talks on the Siachen glacier dispute on June 11-12 in Islamabad.The last round of talks on Siachen was held in Delhi by the Defence Secretaries of the two countries almost a year ago.Defence Secretaries of the two nuclear-armed rivals will discuss ways to resolve the issue.Siachen, the worlds highest militarized zone, has been an outstanding issue between Pakistan and India as the border is not clearly demarcated in the glaciated region.Indian Defence Minister A K Antony informed the Lok Sabha that President Asif Ali Zardari during meeting with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on his visit to Ajmer Sharif on April 8 had proposed removal of troops from Siachen.
