Summary President Asif Ali Zardari said that the government was doing all efforts to overcome power crisis.

Pakistan is passing from hard times as it is playing role of a frontline state in war on terror, he said.He was addressing a special ceremony in connection with the fifteen years diplomatic relations with the European Union in Islamabad on Wednesday evening.He said that Pakistan is moving in the right direction to achieve the target of sustainable development.The President said PPP led government has taken a number of steps to ensure economic revival of the country besides empowering women and federating unit. He said the greatest achievement of the PPP government is restoration of 1973 constitution.The President said Pakistan is facing a number of challenges including power crisis but the government is determined to overcome it in the shortest possible time.Referring Pakistans role in the fight against terrorism the President said Pakistan has rendered matchless efforts to eliminate militancy and terrorism.Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan intends to increase cooperation with the European Union as it takes at a very important PARTNER for its development and overcome economic challenges. He expressed the desire OF the parliament to have a strategic partnership with the European Union.Referring Pak US relations the President said these are based on mutual respect and said these are very important for both the nations. He said the parliament will take final decision regarding new term of engagement with the United States.President Asif Ali Zardari said Pakistan is successfully activated its relations with the neighbors as it considers relations with the neighbors vital for peace and progress in the region.
