Summary Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday ruled out any confrontation with the judiciary.

He was speaking in PTVs programme PM Online in which he also responded to questions by callers.Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has categorically stated that there will be no question of confrontation with the judiciary and he would exercise his right of appeal in the contempt of court case.The Prime Minister asserted that he did not write letter to the Swiss authorities in the light of recommendations received from the Ministry of Law and Justice. Mr. Gillani contended he did nothing wrong in following the law and the Constitution.When reminded that during an interview with Al-Jazeera television he had committed to voluntarily resign if verdict is against him‚ the Prime Minister said at that time he had not appointed even lawyer and now he is following his advice.The Prime Minister said the President enjoys immunity and the Prime Minister also enjoys immunity in the discharge of his functions under article 248 of the Constitution.To a question he said he went to the court for the third time mentally prepared to go to Adiala Jail.He said his conviction was just for five or six seconds but Mian Nawaz Sharif was convicted for several years in plain hijacking case.The Prime Minster said the detailed verdict of the court is yet to come but PML (N) is in haste in demanding resignation from him. He said he would have resigned if he had been charged of moral or financial corruption but he has been convicted for following the Constitution.Referring to the announcement of PML (N) to launch a movement‚ the Prime Minister said being the ruling party in Punjab how can the provincial government can launch agitation against the federal government as this would be mutiny and against the constitution.He said it is year of electioneering and both PML (N) and PTI are trying to leave the other behind in criticizing the government to portray themselves as real opposition.The Prime Minister once again expressed determination of the government to create Saraiki province.
