Summary CJP said that if the third power comes to power, it would arrange for local elections.
He consulted that an amendment has been made in the constitution; while arrangements for local bodies’ elections are not being made.While hearing a case in Quetta regarding local polls, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that history records that whenever Martial forces came to power, first of all, they made arrangements for local bodies elections.The provincial members told to the court that local bodies’ elections would be held very soon in the country.The Chief Justice said that endeavours made for preparations of voting lists are commendable.
