Summary Search and rescue operation continued in at Gayari Sector in Siachen despite harsh weather.
The search and rescue operation for over a 100 soldiers buried at Gayari continued for the 23th day. ISPR reported that the Ground Penetrating Rader (GPR) teams took readings at 26 different points and identified eight sites where excavation work is in progress.Work on spillway is also underway to discharge water that resulted due to melting of glacier. Harsh weather and extreme cold is hampering the rescue work. Meanwhile, the met office has predicted more start of snowfall from today.
