Summary Letter written by SC Assistant Registrar to NA Speaker pertaining to verdict against PM is illegal.
Addressing a news conference along with Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira in Islamabad on Saturday, Law Minister Farooq H Naek said the apex court has neither disqualified the Prime Minister nor given any directions to the Speaker or the Election Commission in this regard.Naek mentioned that SCs Assistant Registrar is not authorized to issue directiosn to the assembly speaker.He also said Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani is still the prime minister‚ member of the National Assembly and the cabinet is functioning constitutionally.Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has always respected the courts and will continue to do so as per the partys tradition.He said Pakistan Peoples Party has always contested its cases in the courts and never tried to break the chain of Justice.Kaira also regretted that Pakistan Muslim League (N) is twisting facts on the court orders.
