Nepra approves increase of Rs 2.38 in power tariff

Summary NEPRA has approved an increase of Rs 2.38 per unit in power tariff.

In a statement released from National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra), Central Power Purchasing Agency told that extra power was generated from diesel and furnace oil in the month of January and February due to which power tariff was raised by 59 paisa in February and Rs. 1.79 per unit in February.After the final approval by federal government, this hike will be charged from all consumers.However, people consuming up to 100 units will be exempted from this hike.
