Summary The Ministry of Railways has cancelled catering contracts of four passenger trains.
The catering contracts of four passenger trains have been cancelled and the dining cars have also been seized after suspension of stay order.The trains include, Tezgam, Khyber Mail, Pakistan Express and Karachi Express.The contracts of the dining cars were approved three years ago on very low rates with the connivance of railway officers.The Railway Ministry had announced new tenders for contracts in January during this year but the old contractors got stay order from the court.The ministry seized he dining cars after completion of the duration odf stay order.According to Pakistan Railways authorities, the contracts will be granted to those who gave highest bids in the tenders of January this year.
