Young doctors have continued their strike for the seventh day in Punjab on Wednesday, demanding cancellation of transfer orders of a number of their colleagues.The provincial government has decided to transfer over 600 doctors, including postgraduate trainees and senior medical officers.The young doctors are on strike in OPDs of the government hospitals throughout the province on the call of the Young Doctors Association (YDA), Punjab.The patients, requiring outdoor treatment, voluntarily stopped visiting hospitals in as many numbers as in routine days in anticipation for the unavailability of healthcare services.The outdoor as well as indoor departments in the government hospitals wore a deserted look, as the doctors stayed away from their duties.As a result, hundreds of thousands of the patients were left unattended.
