Summary Senator Aitzaz Ahsan will represent the government in Bhutto reference.
The government has appointed Aitzaz Ahsan as its lawyer to represent it in the Bhutto reference in the Supreme Court.Earlier, Senator Babar Awan was repenting the government but his license was suspended by the court as his poetic remarks about the apex court sparked contempt of court proceedings.President Asif Ali Zardari filed a reference in the Supreme Court last year to review the decision of the death sentence for the founder of Pakistan People’s Party and former prime minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.After suspension of Awan’s license, the court had directed the government to appoint another lawyer.Following the court direction, the government has appointed Aitzaz Ahsan to represent its stance before the court.It is worth mentioning that Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan is also defending Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani in the contempt of court case.
