Summary The extension plan of the US embassy in Islamabad has been challenged in the Supreme Court.
The petitioner, Chaudhary Muhammas Iqbal, in his petition has requested the Supreme Court to ask Capital Development Authority (CDA) to cancel approval of the extension plan of the US embassy in Islamabad.Capital Development Authority, Interior Ministry, Foreign Ministry, ID Islamabad and US embassy are made party in the application.According to the petitioner, the US embassy building can be used for spying and the extension plan will be a security risk for other sensitive buildings present in the Red Zone.
