Summary Supreme Court has issued notices over inhumane treatment of 7 detained persons.
The court took serious notice of deteriorating health of seven persons detained by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government.Hearing the case of missing persons, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry issued notices to the KPK Advocate General, the federal Attorney General and Raja Arshad, the counsel for the security agencies.The chief justice said that nobody can be detained without charge and no one can be meted out inhumane treatment under the Geneva Convention.Advocate Tariq Asad, appearing for the detained men, told the court that five of them were kept at a detention centre while two were admitted to a hospital.He said the prisoners were meted out inhumane treatment in violation of the constitution.
