Contempt case hearing against Babar Awan today

A two-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Afzal Ijaz will resume the hearing of contempt of court case against Babar Awan today.On the last hearing, Babar Awan’s counsel Barrister Ali Zafer took the stance in the court that presence of the Attorney General was necessary on this occasion. He pleaded the court to adjourn the proceedings.Giving his remarks, Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali said the court has decided to convict Babar Awan in the contempt case.Later the court adjourned the proceedings of the case till today (April 10).However, Babar Awan is currently on a visit to India and his counsel Barrister Ali Zafer will ask the court to adjourn the hearing of the case further.
