Summary PM Gilani has reiterated that Pakistan is facing major challenges in restoring peace in the region.

Addressing the Boao Forum, PM Gilani highlighted the role Pakistan has played in war against terrorism. He regretted that Pakistan had to accommodate more than 3.5 million refugees due to Russia in Afghan war.Highlighting the Pak-Sino ties, Gilani affirmed that the relations between the two countries are strengthening day by day.He said World economic recession and increase in international oil prices have also left bad impact on the economy of Pakistan. Hecalled for more cooperation among the regional countries for economic development.Highlighting his achievements, Gilani said parliament has made landmark legislations and restored the 1973 constitution. He said there is independent judiciary‚ free media and vibrant civil society.During the address, PM Gilani hoped that Pakistan will achieve the targets of millennium development goal by 2015.
