Summary The government has decided to impose 100 percent surcharge on CNG.
According to sources, the government has decided to increase CNG price and a notification regarding this would be issued soon.The step would eliminate the 55 % price difference that is there between CNG and petrol price as agreed by the Petroleum Ministry and the CNG Association. Earlier, it was decided that about 55 percent difference would be maintained in CNG and petrol prices at all costs. However, after the imposition of 100 percent surcharge, there would be no difference in CNG and petrol prices.
