Commissioner Karachi has directed authorities to take action against owners who kept their petrol pumps shut in anticipation of rise in petrol prices.The petrol pumps in Karachi re-opened on Thursday evening after remaining closed for two days due to unrest and violence in the city. The petrol pumps in many parts of the city were shut down again by greedy owners to gain more benefit as the speculations of proposed hike in petroleum prices was aired by media.The residents in different parts of Karachi face difficulties as they wandered around in search of petrol. Meanwhile, Commissioner Karachi Roshan Shiekh has directed authorities to take serious actions against all petrol pump owners who closed their pumps in order to gain profits from the upcoming rise in the petrol prices.Roshan Sheikh told media that he directed five deputy commissioners of the city to take serious actions against the closed pumps and seal all such pumps.Sheikh further said that the license of the closed petrol pump would be sealed adding that the owners who have closed their pumps would be arrested.
