Summary The three-day annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam will starts in Multan today.
The custodian (Sajjada Nasheen) of the shrine Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi would inaugurate the three-day Urs proceedings by giving bath to the grave of the saint.Later, a conference will be held at the shrine during with renowned scholars and clerics would spotlight the life of the saint.A large number of faithful are expected to come to Multan from across the country to attend the Urs.The DCO has issued orders for establishment of a central control room, asking all departments to stay in touch with the control room till the end of the Urs.Tight security arrangements have been made for the occasion. All the road to and from will remain closed for all kind of traffic during the Urs.
