Summary Roofs of over 200 houses were blown away by dust storm in Murree and suburbs.

Meteorological Department on Tuesday forecast that many areas of the country would remain under dust storm triggered from the Arabian Gulf.The dusty winds disrupted the routine life in various areas of the federal capital and nearby cities while many fights were cancelled at Islamabad airport.Karachi was overcast with layers of dust when gale-force winds generated from Arabian Sea, entered Sindh from Balochistan.Streets and roads were soon deserted as a result of overlapping sandstorm diminishing the visibility. Also, the flight service was affected in Karachi, Nawabshah, Sukkur, Moinjo Daro, Quetta, Jakobabad, Gwadar and Pasni airports.Lahore also remained covered with a blanket of dust.According to the Meteorological Department, dusty winds decreased temperature in many areas.Sandstorm covered several Sindh cities in dust. The commercial activities and routine life were adversely impacted in Sukkur among other cities, causing the traffic to vanish from the roads.Huge billboards and rooftops of several houses were blown away by the dust-storm in Nawabshah and its suburbs.The dust storm would remain in the atmosphere for two or three days but it would be diminished gradually by March 24.Metrological Department said the dust in the air is due to variation of air pressure in the region including India, Pakistan and Middle East.Usually air pressure of the region remains almost same but it occurs rarely that it changes in the different areas of the region.
