In a recent incident, unidentified gunmen opened fire at butcher’s shop in Gol Market in Nazimabad area.According to details, Muhammad Zubair, the shopkeeper was handed Rs. 60,000 extortion slip yesterday which he refused to pay.Locals blocked the main road in a protest and demanded immediate arrest of the extortionists.On Saturday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement called for shutter down strikein Karachi and other urban centres of Sindh in a protest against the extortion mafia.Entire business community and industrialists supported the anti-extortion drive to deal with the elements trying to jeopardise business activities in the economic and commercial hub of the country.
