Summary The ISI chief General Shuja Pasha is retiring from his post today.
General Shuja Pasha was appointed DG ISI in October 2008 at an important juncture in the history of Pakistan. He got two extensions during his tenure as ISI chief. He got one year extension once while two years on the second time.The time magazine has recently included his name in the list of 100 strongest personalities of the world. Osama Bib Laden was killed by US Seals in Abbottabad durin Gen Pasha tenure after which Pak-US relations deteriorated.Lt Gen Pasha also met the central figure in memogate scandal, Mansoor Ijaz in London which infuriated the civilian government in Islamabad. He also submitted his affidavit in the court regarding memogate scandal. Meanwhile, opposition have alleged that Gen Pasha is helping some political parties of the countries.
