Summary Civil and military leadership has agreed to finalise new terms of engagement with US.

Troika first discussed Nato supply and review of Pak-US ties at a special meeting at President House.President Zardari chaired the meeting with PM Gilani and COAS Gen Kayani. The Troika discussed Nato supply issue in the light of recommendations of the parliamentary committee, sources said.In addition, the three leaders are also discussing other national security issues such as situation on the borders and uninterrupted drone strikes by Nato forces.A meeting was later held with coalition partners in which it was decided that pak-US ties review in light of parliamentary committee’s recommendations would be presented in a joint session of parliament on March 17.Pakistan and US relations have hit the lowest ebb since Nato strike on two Pakistani checkposts on the Afghan border. At least 24 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the strike that led to Pakistan snapping Nato supply route to Afghanistan.The recommendations hammered out by the civil and military leadership in view of parliamentary committee’s meeting will be tabled in the joint session.The session would also decide whether to restore Nato supply and under what revised terms and conditions.The United States has already declared that it eagerly awaits review of ties by the Pakistan parliament.
