Summary NA has passed a resolution for comprehensive legislation to solve the issue of missing persons.
Opposition leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has termed the resolution as the most remarkable achievement of the assembly over the four years.The resolution was tabled by PML-N leader Zahid Hamid who said that missing persons’ situation has become deplorable.He said that a parliamentary committee should be formed in consultation with the speaker National Assembly, the prime minister and the opposition leader. It would help law-making for recovery of missing persons. It was said in the resolution that the role of agencies should also be regularized.Chaudhry Nisar Ali said that it was duty of every member of society to struggle for recovery of missing persons. If anybody has committed any crime, he should be produced before the court which would take final decision, he said.He said that the Interior Minister is the mostly responsible in this regard.
