Bukhari, Baloch elected Senate chairman, deputy

Newly-appointed senators took oath of their offices and later Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman were elected by the session.Before session meeting, the government coalition and parliamentary party of the opposition held a meeting where it was decided that Ishaq Dar would be an opposition leader.On the other hand, opposition parties also held a meeting under joint chairmanship of Raja Zaferul Haque, Maulan Abdul Ghafoor Hayderi and Ishaq Dar in which the PML-N, JUI-F, National Party, Fata and other independent members participated.The meeting decided that the opposition would demand chairmanship of standing committees according to its strength under new rules and regulations. The opposition parties had unanimously decided not to bring their candidates for the seats of Chairman and Deputy Chairman.
