Summary Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar said it will take time to end loadshedding.
Addressing to a businessmen community at Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and later talking to media, he said that the huge difference between demand and supply of power is the major reason and hurdle to end loadshedding. Therefore, it would take enough time to end power outage from country, he added.After devolution of power under the PPP-led coalition government, the provinces have been given power to generate their own electricity, he said.The Minister said that government is focusing on Thar Coal project from where thousands of megawatt of electricity can be produced while work is in progress on Neelam-Jehulam project.To a question, Qamar said that nothing would happen either forthcoming election would be held at the end of 2012 or in 2013.
