Summary President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned Senate session on Monday and NA session on March 14.
Next few days will witness hectic Parliamentary activities with session of both the houses of the parliament and the joint sitting falling one after the other.The President has summoned the Senate session on March 12 where 54 Senators-elect will take oath as members of the Upper House to replace the outgoing 50 law makers who have completed their six year term. It is for the first time that four representatives of minorities elected against seats reserved for them will also take oath as senators.Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday, on advice of the Prime Minister, has summoned National Assembly session on 14th of March, 2012 at 5.00 pm.Farhatullah Babar, Spokesperson to the President, said that the summoning of the session has been rescheduled in view of fourth Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA), Asia Regional Conference being held on 12-16 March 2012 in Karachi and it would not be possible for many parliamentarians including the Speaker National Assembly to attend the session that was earlier summoned on March 12.
