(Dunya News) – International Day of Happiness is celebrated across the globe on March 20 aiming to celebrate all the happiness and laughter in life.

On this day, we meet a 70-year-old man who has been spreading joy and happiness among locals through his melodious singing.

Tariq Shal from Muzaffarabad has been singing for decades, uplifting the mood of locals of all age groups through his unique style.

According to Shal, he is inspired by famous Indian singer Muhammad Rafi whose songs he knows by heart.

“Whenever I meet my old friends, they always request for an old classic song,” says Shal “this brings me happiness, to see them listening to these songs.”

Speaking to Dunya News, people visiting Shal say that in difficult times like these, his singing and humour distracts them from the worries of routine life. “And one feels happy around him,” says one of the visitors.

“Whenever we see Tariq Shal, we request him to sing something for us,” said a young fan of Shal’s singing.

Reminding everyone to smile, this 70-year-old man is surely bringing joy and happiness to many people through his melodious songs.
