Summary Veteran actor Usman Peerzada has revealed details about his autobiography and possible biopic, saying his book will honestly document his life and memories of a different era in Pakistan.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Veteran Pakistani actor, director and renowned theatre artist Usman Peerzada has shared interesting details about his ongoing autobiography and the possibility of a biopic based on his life.
Usman Peerzada recently appeared on a programme where he discussed writing a book about his life and the possibility of his story being adapted into a film in the future.
Asked what the title of a film based on his life could be, Peerzada jokingly said that his biopic would be censored in the first place.
He revealed that he is currently writing his autobiography but finds it difficult to decide which incidents should be included and which should be left out.
The veteran actor said that since it is a book, it should contain the truth, adding that leaving out important events would be unfair to the readers.
Talking about the progress of his autobiography, Peerzada said he is still in the process of writing it. Whenever something comes to his mind, he writes it down, adding that the book is taking a very good shape.
Peerzada said his children also advise him to write the book for his fans, particularly at a time when the reading trend has declined and people are more occupied with computers and other sources instead of reading books.
Referring to the current generation, he said Generation Z had moved away from reading and added that his book would cover a long period of time and many events.
The veteran artist said the book would not only be significant for his own generation but also for future generations, as the Pakistan of his time was different from the country today.
He recalled that Pakistan during that period was a very vibrant, modern and colourful country, adding that his autobiography would preserve memories and events from that era for coming generations.
