Oompa Loompas hit the streets of New York City on Tuesday (October 18), singing and dancing their way to midtown, as a way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the childrens classic film, Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.Original cast members arrived at the shop of renowned world-famous chocolatier, Jacques Torres, to mark the release of a special Blu-ray anniversary edition of the film.The film, released in 1971, starring Gene Wilder and Jack Albertson, told the tale of a magical golden ticket that opened the door to a wonderful chocolate factory.Original Oompa Loompah Rusty Goffe says, The favorite memory was the first memory. I remember going into the chocolate room and seeing all that color. The river and the waterfall, it was awesome and amazing.Besides the Oompa Lumpas, the original cast met with fans and signed autographs of the DVD to celebrate the 40th birthday of the perennial family classic.
